Family Fued was one of my favorite shows until I saw this.

Yesterday, Monique was on the Steve Harvey Show to have a discussion about whether or not she was blackballed from Hollywood by Lee Daniels, Oprah Winfrey, and Tyler Perry. What started out as an interesting conversation, quickly turned into Steve Harvey criticizing Monique for her lack of strategy, after she called for a boycott of Netflix because of alleged gender and color bias by the media service provider.

Harvey spoke over Monique throughout the conversation, lecturing the Oscar winning actress and successful stand-up comedian on why Black people in Hollywood have to conceal their integrity in order to work. Steve Harvey’s comments are commonplace for Black people and people from underrepresented communities in the workplace, who are told that it is unprofessional to speak out against racism and injustice honestly, as it happens. Comedian/Actress Amanda Seale said it best in her 1-Hour stand up special on HBO, “y’all have turned passive aggressive into a synonym for professionalism.”
