Can we close the gap?

Thoughts when I saw this…

  • I have to get my money up.
  • Married compared to unmarried! The older I get, the more I feel like being married might make things easier. I am a single father currently in grad school at the University of Washington and I live in Family Student Housing. A lot of my neighbors are married, two incomes, egalitarian households. All nationalities, you have some households where both the husband and wife are both in school and working.
  • College vs. No college degree. While there is a significant increase for college graduates, there isn’t as much of a gap as I would have thought.
  • Two different cities for Blacks & Latinos and Whites & Asians. Why? What do Black and Latino people need to do in order to close the gap? What role does institutionalized racism play? How do we counter that?
  • Final Thought- Home ownership, Education and/or business ownership and marriage.
