Brian Flores possibly sacrifices his chance to coach again in the NFL

Brian Flores is suing the NFL for discrimination in hiring after receiving accidental text messages from New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. The NFL has a long history of discrimination against Black Head Coaches and Coaching candidates. The Rooney Rule has been unsuccessful in increasing the number of Black coaches in the NFL.

These teams do not deserve incentives for hiring Black men. What is needed is a class-action lawsuit. We know that the NFL is very unforgiving towards players and coaches who speak out against the league. For that reason, I think that Flores has all but eliminated his chances to coach in the league. However, his decision to take a stand against the NFL could lead to more Black coaches’ hired.

While I do not think that Coach Flores will ever coach in the NFL(I hope he does), his actions will be remembered as heroic, and he should be celebrated and protected at all costs.
