I am Anthony Washington, a historian, educator, entrepreneur, former professional athlete, and published author. I created Thoughts Processed as a space to explore history, education, business, sports, and culture through deep reflection and critical discussion.
Born and raised in Seattle’s Central District, I attended Garfield High School before earning a basketball scholarship to the University of Washington. My professional basketball career took me across the world. My greatest journey has been one of lifelong learning. Inspired by my grandparents, Dr. Frederick and Dr. Dorothy Cordova, and my mother, a community activist and project developer, I developed a passion for history, advocacy, and education.
After basketball, I transitioned to teaching and earned my degree in American Ethnic Studies and a master’s in Special Education from the University of Washington. As an educator, I focus on student advocacy, special education, and dismantling barriers that hold students back, particularly young men of color.
Beyond education, I am the founder of Thoughts Cost, a business dedicated to consulting, curriculum development, and AI-driven solutions in education. I am passionate about African American history, business strategy, the psychology of sports, and food culture, all of which influence my writing and research.
Through Thoughts Processed, I share insights from my experiences on the court, in the classroom, and in the business world. I aim to challenge perspectives, spark conversations, and provide a space for thoughtful engagement.
Stay a while, dive into the discussion, and let’s process some thoughts together.
